The trench coat, short version. This jacket stops at the waist (57 cm in total length in M), which frees the leg and shows off high-waisted trousers. The medium-weight polyester gabardine has a matte look, with no shine, and keeps its hold wear after wear.

The cut

A straight, loose cut, with volume at the shoulders and long raglan sleeves. The drape stays fluid: no rigid structure, no pronounced shoulder pads. The belt with loops and a rectangular buckle lets you draw the waist in, or leave the jacket open for a wider effect. The back is made with a central seam and a topstitched waist yoke that structures the silhouette seen from behind.

How to wear it

Over a fine knit and wide trousers, with boots or low trainers. Closed and belted, it draws a clean high waist. Open, it layers easily over a ribbed jumper. The camel goes with black, ecru, grey and raw denim without thinking.

When to wear it

It is a mid-season piece: mild autumn, cool spring, or in town over a thick knit when the temperature drops. The medium weight of the fabric cuts the wind without playing the part of a winter coat.

Fabric and care

Composition: 100% polyester. Gabardine weave, matte look, medium weight. Weight of the piece and its packaging: about 0.65 kg.

Care: Machine wash at 30 °C, delicate programme, inside out with the buttons fastened. No tumble dryer: hang the jacket on a wide hanger to preserve the volume of the shoulders. Gentle ironing at low temperature, or dry cleaning. The fabric has had no anti-crease treatment: a light steam is enough after a stay in a suitcase.

Size

A loose, straight cut: your usual size suits in most cases. For a drape closer to the body, take the size down. To layer a thick jumper, go up a size. Flat measurements (bust / sleeve length from the shoulder / total length): XS 100 / 70 / 55 cm — S 104 / 71 / 56 cm — M 108 / 72 / 57 cm — L 112 / 73 / 58 cm. Measurements taken by hand, tolerance of 1 to 2 cm.

Good to know

• Polyester — is it warm, or stifling? It is a mid-season jacket, not a winter coat. The medium weight cuts the wind and the chill of the morning. Worn closed over a fine knit, it stays comfortable through the day; in real cold, plan on a jumper underneath.
• Does such a short jacket suit every figure? It stops at the waist, around 57 cm in M. It works above all with high-waisted bottoms: wide trousers, straight jeans, a long skirt. With a low waist, the whole loses its balance.
• Does the camel in the photos match reality? Our images are made from the reference garment, in its exact colourway. A screen may slightly change the warmth of the tone: expect a medium camel, matte, with no golden effect.
