A denim jacket that steps outside the classic wardrobe. The cut is frankly oversized: dropped shoulders, wide sleeves, mid-hip length. It goes over a fine top as easily as over a heavy knit without pulling at the armholes.

The front fastens with frog buttons — braided closures, a rare detail on a denim piece, and what gives the jacket its character. The hood is lined. Panel seams and tonal topstitching, front and back, structure the volume, and the back plays on a deliberate gradient wash.

How to wear it

It works on its own over straight-leg jeans or fluid pants, with sneakers or ankle boots. In mid-season, wear it open over a t-shirt and a fine sweater; when it turns cooler, close the frogs and pull the hood up. The wide volume calls for a sharper bottom: avoid layering two roomy pieces if you want to keep a defined silhouette.

The fabric

A polyester denim with a washed jeans look. It holds its shape well, does not crease easily and stands up to machine washing. The fabric is not see-through. Available in washed blue and washed black.

The jacket can be worn as a set with the matching wide-leg pants, sold separately.

Fabric and care

Composition: Polyester denim (second textile component at under 30%). Panels in contrasting printed fabric. Hood lining. Not see-through. Delivered with its tags.

Care: Machine wash at 30 °C, delicate cycle, inside out to protect the print on the pockets and cuffs. No bleach. Air dry on a hanger, avoid the tumble dryer. Iron gently if needed, on the reverse, avoiding the printed areas and the frog buttons.

Size

One size, in a deliberately oversized cut: dropped shoulders, wide sleeves, mid-hip length. It generally corresponds to a size S to XL, with a roomier drape on smaller sizes. The supplier has not provided a measurement chart. If you prefer a close-fitting jacket, this model is not made for that. To compare, measure flat a jacket you wear open over a sweater and check the chest widths.

Good to know

• Polyester denim — does it look synthetic? Visually it still reads as washed denim, with the grain and the shades of the fabric. The difference shows in use: it is lighter than cotton denim, it does not stretch at the elbows and it dries fast. On the other hand it breathes less than pure cotton, which makes it a mid-season rather than a summer piece.
• Won't the oversized cut widen me? The volume is roomy — that is the point of the piece. It balances with a straighter or slimmer bottom, and by leaving the jacket open to create a vertical line. The vertical panel seams front and back work in the same direction.
• Are frog buttons practical day to day? They open and close like ordinary buttons once you have the knack. The jacket also wears very well open, the frogs then becoming a simple decorative detail on the front.
