Oversized hooded denim jacket

A supple denim jacket, oversized cut with a zip-up hood, made for mid-season days.

This jacket takes the codes of workwear denim with a frankly wide volume. The shoulders drop, the bodice is roomy, the sleeves stay generous down to the elasticated edge. The length stops at the hip, which keeps the silhouette readable despite the volume.

The fabric is a polyester denim: lighter and more supple than stiff cotton denim, it drapes well from the first wear and does not break at the folds. The blue version plays on washes and wear effects. The black one adds printed panels with a faded floral pattern on the bodice.

Plan it for autumn and spring: it works on its own over a t-shirt on mild days, and layers over a sweatshirt or a fine cardigan when it turns cooler. It is not a winter jacket.

Fabric and care

Composition: 100% polyester denim. Lined hood. Elasticated ribbing at the cuffs and the hem of the jacket.

Care: Machine wash at 30 °C, delicate cycle, turned inside out to protect the print and the washed effects. No bleach. Air dry on a hanger; tumble drying is not advised. Iron gently on the reverse if needed, avoiding the printed areas.

Size

One size, cut wide: it generally corresponds to a size S to XL, and the volume already allows for a thick sweatshirt underneath. The supplier has not provided a measurement chart. Measure a jacket you already wear, flat (chest width and total length), and compare before ordering.

Good to know

• Polyester denim — is it worth cotton denim? It is not the same product. Polyester gives a lighter, more supple fabric that is more stable in the wash, without the stiffness of raw denim. On the other hand it breathes less than cotton: this is a mid-season jacket, not a piece for hot weather.
• Won't the oversized cut swamp me if I am petite? The length stops at the hip and the hem is elasticated: the jacket marks a clean line instead of hanging straight. Worn over high-waisted pants or a short skirt, it stays balanced. If you are under 1.60 m, the jacket will sit a little lower on the hip.
• Will the print and the washes last? The wear effects and the printed panels are part of the fabric; they are not stuck on the surface. Wash at 30 °C inside out and air dry: that is what best preserves the depth of the colors.
