Long floral lace dress with a V-neck

A maxi dress in floral lace, defined waist and long sleeves, designed for dressed-up evenings.

This long dress plays on a single effect: openwork floral lace, with a daisy motif, laid over the whole piece, sleeves included. The bodice is lined; the rest lets the light and the drawing of the motif through.

The cut is close to the body. A seam under the bust, underlined with a braid, shapes the bodice and marks the waist. The skirt falls straight then opens out towards the bottom, in a mermaid spirit. The total length runs from 130 to 134 cm depending on the size: it falls at the ankle on most figures.

• V-neck with a contrasting lined panel, which structures the neckline.
• Zip at the back of the neckline, so the dress goes on without straining the lace.
• Long sleeves in openwork lace, 59 to 63 cm depending on the size.

How to wear it

This is a dress for an evening, a winter wedding or the end-of-year celebrations. The long sleeves make it wearable from October to March, which is rare on a dressed-up piece. With court shoes or fine ankle boots, a clutch and discreet gold jewellery. A long straight coat or a cape over the top, with no short jacket that would break the waistline.

Three deep colourways: black, burgundy and brown. The burgundy and the brown warm golden complexions; black remains the safe choice for formal evenings.

What to know before ordering

The lace is fine, supple, with no elastane: it does not stretch. The measurements below should therefore be compared with your own before choosing your size. If you hesitate between two sizes, take the larger: the cut is close to the body and the fabric makes up for nothing.

Fabric and care

Composition: Openwork floral lace, fine and supple, with no elastane (non-stretch). Lined bodice. The exact composition in figures has not been communicated to us by the workshop: we prefer to tell you that rather than put forward an invented percentage. It will be added to the page as soon as we have verified it.

Care: Hand wash at 30 °C, or machine wash at 30 °C on a delicate programme and in a net bag, with a gentle detergent. No bleach, no tumble dryer. Do not spin hard: press the dress in a towel, then dry it flat or on a wide hanger, away from a heat source. Iron at low temperature on the reverse, placing a fine cloth in between to protect the lace. Close the zip before washing so it does not catch the threads.

Measurements taken flat, to be compared with your own (tolerance of 2 to 3 cm, measured by hand). S: bust 88 cm, waist 68 cm, length 130 cm, sleeve 59 cm. M: bust 92 cm, waist 72 cm, length 131 cm, sleeve 60 cm. L: bust 96 cm, waist 76 cm, length 132 cm, sleeve 61 cm. XL: bust 100 cm, waist 80 cm, length 133 cm, sleeve 62 cm. 2XL: bust 104 cm, waist 82 cm, length 134 cm, sleeve 63 cm. As the dress has no elastane, allow a few centimetres of ease at the bust and waist. Between two sizes, choose the larger.

Good to know

• Is the lace see-through? The bodice is lined — that is the area where transparency would be a problem. The sleeves and the lower skirt stay openwork; that is the intent of the piece. If you want more coverage on the legs, a fine slip in the same colour settles the question.
• A fitted cut with no elastane — is that risky for sizing? That is why we publish the flat measurements, size by size. Take your bust and waist measurements, compare, and keep a few centimetres of ease. Between two sizes, go up one: the dress does not stretch.
• Will I be able to wear it anywhere other than a wedding? Yes. The long sleeves and the deep colourways make it wearable for a festive dinner, a birthday or a work evening. With fine ankle boots and a long straight coat, it steps out of the strictly ceremonial register.
