Long satin dress with an embroidered bib

A covering ceremony dress, in fluid satin, with an embroidered bib, a high collar and a skirt flaring to the ankle.

This long dress plays the matte-and-shine satin card and a very structured silhouette. The bodice is fitted, the waist marked by a matching belt with a round fabric-covered buckle, and the skirt opens out in an A-line to the ankle. The result: a lengthened line, with no clinging effect.

The finishing work

The front is brought to life by a central bib in embroidered lace, closed with covered buttons. The high collar is gathered and underlined by a small frill. On the shoulders, two flat frills fall towards the bodice and soften the line of the shoulders. The long sleeves are puffed then drawn in onto a buttoned cuff. Fastening at the back.

The fabric

100% polyester satin, with a fluid and slightly shiny drape. It glides over the gored skirt and gives it movement as you walk. The fabric creases little, which is practical for a day at an event or a journey by car. Weight of the piece: about 640 g.

How to wear it

• As a guest at a wedding or a christening, with nude court shoes and fine earrings.
• For a religious ceremony: the high collar and long sleeves cover the shoulders and arms.
• In the evening, in the black version, with a clutch and gold jewellery.
• In mid-season, with a long straight coat or a short fitted jacket.

Fabric and care

Composition: 100% polyester (satin). Lining not specified by the manufacturer: we advise a slip if you wear the pink colourway.

Care: Hand wash or machine wash at 30 °C in a net bag, delicate cycle. No bleach. Dry flat or on a hanger, in the shade, no tumble dryer. Iron at low temperature on the reverse, or steam from a distance for the embroidered lace and the sleeves.

Garment measurements taken flat, tolerance of 2 to 4 cm (measured by hand). S: bust 88 cm, waist 76 cm, shoulders 31 cm, sleeve 61 cm, length 130 cm. M: 92 / 80 / 32 / 62 / 131 cm. L: 96 / 84 / 33 / 63 / 132 cm. XL: 100 / 88 / 34 / 64 / 133 cm. 2XL: 104 / 92 / 35 / 65 / 134 cm. The bodice is fitted: if your bust measurement is close to the upper value of a size, take the size up. The length is designed for a height of about 1.65 m worn with a small heel; above 1.72 m, the dress will fall at the high ankle.

Good to know

• Polyester — is it warm? Polyester satin does not breathe like a natural fibre. For an indoor event or a mid-season day, it stays comfortable. In high summer and outdoors, prefer a lighter piece.
• Is the dress see-through? The satin is opaque, but the pink colourway is light and the fabric is fluid. A slip or nude underwear avoids any transparency under strong light or a flash.
• Is the skirt really full? Yes, the skirt is cut in an A-line with gores; it opens out clearly from the waistband. You can walk, dance and sit down without the dress pulling on the hips.
