Denim set, jacket with a floral panel and wide trousers

A two-piece denim set: a loose jacket closed by frog fastenings and edged with a floral panel, with the matching wide trousers.

A denim jacket that steps outside the classic press-stud blouson. The bodice is worked with horizontal panel seams and visible topstitching, the fastening is made with frog closures in the manner of Chinese buttons, and the bottom is underlined by a floral print panel that breaks up the sobriety of the denim. The raw edges left visible on the panel seams give the piece its slightly rough side.

The jacket's cut

An openly oversized volume: dropped shoulders, long full sleeves finished with buttoned cuffs, a length that stops at the hip. The jacket falls straight without marking the waist, which leaves room to layer a fine jumper or a sweatshirt underneath. Two low patch pockets, useful and set low enough to lengthen the line.

The trousers

The trousers are cut in the same denim as the jacket, in the same colourway. The leg is very wide, rounded over the thigh, then tapers slightly towards the ankle — the so-called barrel line. Patch pockets are set at the back. It is the trousers that carry the volume of the silhouette: the jacket stops at the hip and lets them work.

How to wear it

• As a complete set, with low trainers: that is the silhouette in the photos, fully voluminous.
• The jacket on its own, over straight jeans or a long skirt, with ankle boots.
• The trousers on their own, with a fitted top tucked in at the waist to balance them.
• The jacket open over a fine roll-neck when the temperature drops.

The colourways

Two denims to choose from: a washed black, more graphic, and an aged blue, more classic.

Worth knowing

The denim here is woven in polyester: it is lighter than a thick cotton denim, it does not lose shape at the elbows and it dries fast. Count it as a mid-season set, wearable in winter over a warm knit.

Fabric and care

Composition: 100% polyester denim, jacket and trousers. Denim weave, dyed and printed, unlined. Floral print panel at the bottom, frog fastenings and contrasting topstitching.

Care: Machine wash at 30 °C on a delicate programme, inside out to preserve the print and the frog fastenings. No tumble dryer: polyester dries fast in the open air, on a hanger to avoid creases. Gentle ironing if necessary, avoiding the printed panel. Do not use bleach.

Size

One size. The jacket is cut oversized: it falls wide at the shoulders and on the sleeves, with enough room to layer a thick jumper. The trousers are wide over the thigh and taper towards the ankle. The set generally corresponds to a size S to XL. The supplier has not provided a measurement chart. If in doubt, measure flat a jacket you already wear, from one shoulder seam to the other, and write to us: we will measure the piece for you.

Good to know

• Are the trousers really included in the price? Yes. This page sells the two pieces together, which is what the colourways say — "ensemble noir" and "ensemble bleu". The jacket on its own exists on another page of the shop, at a different price.
• Polyester — isn't it worse than real cotton denim? It is different. Polyester denim is lighter, it does not give at the elbows or knees, it keeps its colour in the wash and it dries fast. It does, however, breathe less than a thick cotton: this is a mid-season set, not a warm blouson.
• Isn't the floral print too much? It stays confined to the panel at the bottom of the jacket, on a limited band. The rest of the piece is plain denim. The effect is graphic rather than flowery, especially in the black colourway.
• An oversized cut — does it shorten the silhouette? The jacket stops at the hip and the horizontal panel seams of the bodice structure the volume. Worn open over a straight or fitted bottom, it lengthens the line. With the matching wide trousers, the effect is frankly voluminous: that is the silhouette the set offers.
