Denim set, kimono jacket and wide trousers

A two-piece set in washed denim: an oversized jacket with a kimono collar and contrasting pockets, with the matching wide trousers.

This jacket takes up the structure of a denim jacket, but replaces the lapel collar with a shawl collar of kimono inspiration. The result is softer on the shoulders and more graphic from the front, especially with the printed facings that show at the edge of the collar.

The denim is a washed polyester fabric: it stays supple, creases little and keeps its drape after several wears. The topstitching is tonal and discreet, and a central seam structures the back.

The jacket's cut

A frankly full volume, dropped shoulders, wide sleeves with turn-backs. The length stops at the hips, with a fluid, unstructured drape. This jacket is not fitted: it is worn open over a T-shirt, or closed by its front buttons over a fine piece.

The pockets in detail

Two large patch pockets with flaps, cut in a contrasting fabric with a geometric motif. It is the piece's standout feature, with a result close to applied craftwork. The turn-back cuffs echo the same spirit.

The trousers

The trousers are cut in the same washed denim as the jacket, in the same colourway. The leg is wide and falls straight, with a flap pocket set on the thigh and a turned-up hem, as in the photos. Worn with the jacket, they make the monochrome denim set; worn on their own, they pair with a fitted top tucked in at the waist.

Fabric and care

Composition: Washed polyester denim, jacket and trousers. Facings and pockets in a contrasting fabric printed with a geometric motif. Supplier reference 826058.

Care: Machine wash at 30 °C, delicate programme, inside out and separately for the first few washes to preserve the wash finish. No bleach. Air dry, on a hanger, to keep the drape. Drum drying is not advised. Iron at low temperature if necessary, without dwelling on the printed pockets.

Size

One size, in the spirit of the cut: the model is deliberately very loose, with dropped shoulders and wide sleeves. It generally corresponds to a size S to XL, floatier on the smaller sizes and closer to the body on the larger ones. The supplier has not provided a measurement chart. If you prefer a structured jacket, note that this piece does not mark the waist. The trousers follow the same loose spirit; their hem is worn turned up, which lets you adjust the length.

Good to know

• Are the trousers really included in the price? Yes. This page sells the two pieces together, which is what the colourways say — "ensemble noir" and "ensemble bleu". The kimono jacket on its own exists on another page of the shop, at a different price.
• Polyester denim — does it hold up? It is a denim woven in polyester: it imitates the look of washed cotton but stays lighter, more supple and creases far less. It copes well with a 30 °C wash and dries fast. It does, however, breathe less than a cotton denim: this is a mid-season set, not a piece for full summer sun.
• Such a loose cut — does it make the silhouette look bigger? The volume is concentrated on the shoulders and sleeves, and the jacket's length stops at the hips. Worn open over a fitted base, it creates a vertical line that lengthens. With the wide trousers, the set embraces full volume: that is a choice, not an accident of cut.
• Don't the printed pockets look like fancy dress? They are placed low, in controlled contrast on a plain washed ground. The rest of the jacket is sober: tonal topstitching, discreet buttons. It is the piece's only decorative detail, which is enough to make it recognisable without overloading it.
