Oversized faux suede blouson with a wide collar

A blouson in lined faux suede, a very loose cut and a large lapel collar, in an easy-to-wear coffee colourway.

This blouson plays on two things: the handle of the faux suede, soft and lightly shaded like suede, and a frankly oversized volume. The coffee colourway stays sober and goes effortlessly with raw denim, cream tones and black.

The cut

Dropped shoulders, low armholes, full sleeves drawn in by a buttoned tab at the wrist. The length stops at the hips (70 to 73 cm depending on the size) and the bust measurement exceeds 128 cm: the drape is voluminous, designed to be worn over a jumper or a sweatshirt without pulling at the shoulders. The large collar with wide lapels, in the manner of an oversized shirt collar, structures the top of the silhouette and avoids a shapeless effect.

How to wear it

The simplest way: a white T-shirt, wide trousers or straight jeans, ankle boots. For mid-season, a fine roll-neck underneath is enough. If you like cleaner silhouettes, keep the collar up and tuck the top into the waistband to offset the volume of the blouson.

Season

A mid-season piece: autumn, mild winter, or spring evenings. The thick faux suede and the lining cut the wind, without replacing a proper winter coat.

Fabric and care

Composition: Outer in thick faux suede (coated polyester, suede look), inner lining. Composition as communicated by our supplier.

Care: Faux suede does not like excess water. Dry cleaning recommended. For everyday use: brush dry with a soft brush to revive the grain, dab marks with a slightly damp cloth without rubbing. Air dry, flat, away from a heat source. No tumble dryer, no direct iron: use steam from a distance to relax creases. Hang the blouson on a wide hanger to preserve the shoulders.

Flat measurements communicated by the supplier, tolerance of 1 to 3 cm. S: length 70 cm, bust 128 cm, shoulders 54 cm, sleeve 54 cm. M: 71 / 132 / 55.5 / 55 cm. L: 72 / 136 / 57 / 56 cm. XL: 73 / 140 / 58.5 / 57 cm. The 2XL follows the same progression; its exact measurements have not been communicated to us. The cut is deliberately very loose: take your usual size for the intended volume, or one size down if you prefer a slightly narrower drape.

Good to know

• Does the faux suede look synthetic up close? It is a synthetic material, and we do not hide it. It is thick, matte and lightly shaded, which gives it a grain close to nubuck. In use, it is simpler to live with than real suede: no uneven patina and very quick dry care.
• With a bust of 128 cm in S, will it be too big? Those measurements are those of an openly oversized cut, with dropped shoulders and low armholes. The garment is meant to float. If you are slim and do not want too much volume, the S is ample; if you plan to wear a thick jumper underneath, go up a size.
• Is it warm enough for winter? It is a mid-season blouson. The thick faux suede and the lining protect against wind and chill, but for deep winter you will need a thick knit underneath or a proper coat. Count on it for autumn, mild winter and spring.
