Lace set, peplum jacket and long skirt

A two-piece ceremony outfit in floral lace: a fitted peplum jacket and a lined long skirt.

This set is made up of a peplum jacket and a matching long skirt, cut in an openwork floral lace. The bodice carries a tonal embroidered and beaded appliqué, discreet from a distance, visible up close. It is an outfit designed for ceremonies: a civil wedding, a reception, a christening, a dressed-up invitation.

The cut

The jacket is fitted to the waist, then opens onto a pleated peplum that underlines the line without gripping the hips. The mandarin collar rises on the neck and closes the silhouette. Small buttons run the full height of the front. The long sleeves, in semi-sheer lace, are set slightly at the shoulder.

The skirt is high-waisted, close to the body over the hips, then flared towards the bottom in a mermaid line. It is lined, which gives it drape and prevents any see-through effect. The length comes to the ankle: in size M, the skirt measures 101 cm, up to 104 cm in 2XL.

How to wear it

• As a complete set, with court shoes or fine-heeled sandals, for a ceremony.
• The jacket on its own over wide trousers in a plain colour, for an evening.
• The skirt on its own with a fitted sleeveless top, when it is warm.
• A clutch bag and fine gold jewellery are enough: the lace already carries the decoration.

Good to know

The set weighs about 920 g, lining included. It suits spring, summer and the mid-seasons; in winter, plan on a stole or a short coat cut at the waist so as not to flatten the peplum.

Fabric and care

Composition: Openwork floral lace, lined on the body of the jacket and on the whole skirt. The sleeves remain in single, semi-sheer lace. The exact fibre composition has not been communicated to us by the workshop: we prefer to tell you that rather than announce a material we have not verified.

Care: Hand wash in cold water, or machine wash at 30 °C in a net bag, delicate programme. No bleach. Do not spin hard: press the garment in a towel. Dry flat or on a wide hanger, in the shade. Iron at low temperature on the reverse, with a pressing cloth, avoiding the beaded appliqué. Dry cleaning is possible and remains the safest option for a ceremony piece.

Four sizes, from M to 2XL. Garment measurements taken flat, tolerance of about 3 cm. M: shoulders 34 cm, bust 84-98 cm, waist 74 cm, hips 110 cm, sleeve 55 cm, jacket 60 cm, skirt 101 cm. L: shoulders 35 cm, bust 88-102 cm, waist 78 cm, hips 114 cm, sleeve 56 cm, jacket 61 cm, skirt 102 cm. XL: shoulders 37 cm, bust 92-106 cm, waist 82 cm, hips 118 cm, sleeve 57 cm, jacket 62 cm, skirt 103 cm. 2XL: shoulders 41 cm, bust 96-110 cm, waist 86 cm, hips 122 cm, sleeve 58 cm, jacket 63 cm, skirt 104 cm. The skirt waist is the most fitted point: go first by your waist measurement. If you hesitate between two sizes, take the larger one — the peplum and the mermaid skirt cope poorly with too tight a fit.

Good to know

• Is the lace see-through? The body of the jacket and the skirt are lined: no transparency on the bust, the stomach or the legs. Only the sleeves remain in single, semi-sheer lace, as in the photos.
• Is the mermaid skirt comfortable for sitting several hours? It is fitted over the hips then flares from the thighs, which leaves ease for walking and sitting. The hip measurement runs from 110 cm in M to 122 cm in 2XL: check that measurement before ordering.
• Can the two pieces be worn separately? Yes. The jacket fastens fully at the front and is worn over trousers or dark jeans. The skirt pairs with a plain fitted top. The set is not sewn together — these are two distinct pieces.
