Zip-up hooded jacket and long skirt set

A two-piece set in fluid, matte fabric: a short zip-up hooded jacket and a very full long skirt.

A coordinated set you put on without thinking: a short hooded jacket closed by a central zip, and a long skirt with an elasticated waist. The fabric is fluid and matte, with no sheen, and a light drape that moves as you walk.

The cut

The jacket is short and slightly blousy. The shoulders are dropped, the sleeves long and puffed, gathered by elasticated cuffs. A drawcord at the waist, finished with two tips, lets you define the waist or leave the line straight. Two patch chest pockets with flaps structure the front.

The skirt is very full, gathered onto a fully elasticated waist, and falls to the ankle with a flared drape. The fullness leaves real freedom of movement, including seated or walking fast.

How to wear it

Worn as a set, it makes a covered, smart-casual outfit for the day: white trainers or flat sandals in spring, ankle boots and a fine roll-neck in mid-season. The jacket works very well on its own over straight jeans or wide trousers. The skirt, for its part, pairs with a fine top tucked in at the waist for a dressier look.

Good to know

The fabric is matte and supple: it shows little, but it creases like any fluid material. A pass of steam is enough to bring the drape back.

Fabric and care

Composition: Main fabric with a lyocell/viscose feel, fluid and matte. The supplier indicates a second component present at less than 30% of the main fabric, without specifying its nature; the exact composition has not been communicated. The pieces are delivered without a neck label or hang tag.

Care: Machine wash at 30 °C, delicate cycle, inside out. No fabric softener, no bleach. Short spin. Dry flat or on a hanger, in the shade, no tumble dryer. Gentle ironing at low temperature, or steaming to bring the drape back.

Size

Available from XS to XXL. The cut is loose and deliberately wide at the shoulders: take your usual size for the blousy look shown in the photos. The skirt is fully elasticated at the waist and tolerates a range of body shapes; if you are between two sizes, the smaller one is generally enough. The skirt length is designed to fall at the ankle on an average height: above about 1.75 m, expect a length closer to mid-calf.

Good to know

• Is the fabric see-through? The material is matte, and opaque when worn on the skirt thanks to the fullness and the gathers. Like any fluid material, it can show a little in direct backlight: a slip or long shorts settles the matter if you are sensitive to that.
• Will the short jacket work with the long skirt on my figure? The jacket's waist drawcord lets you choose: pulled tight, it marks the waist just above the skirt's gathers and lengthens the leg; loosened, it gives a straighter, more covering line. It is that adjustment that makes the set wearable on a wide range of figures.
• Is it too warm for summer? The fabric is light and unlined, with an airy drape. The sleeves are long and the skirt covering, which makes it an outfit suited to hot days out of the sun, and to mid-season with a fine top underneath.
