Long pleated dress with floral appliqués

A covering maxi dress, pleated bodice and flowers embroidered on the diagonal, designed for ceremonies.

A dressed-up long dress, cut for occasions where you want to stay covered without giving up on style. The bodice and the sleeves are made in fine pleated chiffon; the skirt, in fluid crêpe, falls to the ankle with a slight flare.

The high collar is gathered, the puff sleeves draw in at the wrist, and the waist is marked by a seam that structures the silhouette. Floral appliqués in embroidered lace run diagonally from the bodice towards the hip: it is that oblique line that visually lengthens the body. At the back, a tie fastens at the nape, above a central seam with a visible fastening.

How to wear it

• As a wedding guest, with court shoes or low-heeled sandals and a soft clutch.
• For an outdoor ceremony: the long sleeves and the maxi length cover without being warm.
• In mid-season, with a short fitted jacket that leaves the waist seam visible.
• The black and milky white colourways are worn all year; the pink and the sky blue are more spring-like.

The cut in detail

Total length from 139 cm in M to 143 cm in 3XL, sleeves from 59 to 63 cm. The dress is designed to fall at the ankle on a height of about 1.65 m to 1.70 m. Below that, plan on a hem; above, it will sit at mid-calf instead.

Fabric and care

Composition: Fine pleated chiffon for the bodice and the sleeves, fluid crêpe for the skirt. Floral appliqués in embroidered lace. The exact fibre composition is not communicated by our workshop; we prefer not to invent it. The handle is light, and the skirt is not see-through thanks to the crêpe.

Care: Hand wash or machine wash at 30 °C, delicate programme, in a net bag to protect the embroidered appliqués. No tumble dryer: heat relaxes the pleating. Dry flat or on a hanger, away from the sun. Iron at low temperature on the reverse, avoiding the pleated areas and the embroidered flowers; a steamer used from a distance is preferable. Close the fastening before washing.

Measurements taken flat, tolerance of about 3 cm. Size M: shoulders 38 cm, bust 90 cm, waist 73 cm, sleeve 59 cm, length 139 cm. Size L: 39 / 94 / 77 / 60 / 140 cm. Size XL: 40 / 98 / 81 / 61 / 141 cm. Size 2XL: 41 / 102 / 85 / 62 / 142 cm. Size 3XL: 42 / 106 / 89 / 63 / 143 cm. The cut is shaped at the waist: if you hesitate between two sizes or have a fuller bust, take the size up. Compare your bust and waist measurements with those above rather than with your usual size.

Good to know

• Is the dress see-through? The skirt is in fluid crêpe, opaque. The bodice and the sleeves in pleated chiffon are lighter: the layering of the pleats and the embroidered appliqués limit transparency, but in the light colourways, plan on tonal underwear.
• Will it suit me if I am over 1.70 m? The length runs from 139 to 143 cm depending on the size, for a fall at the ankle on about 1.65 m to 1.70 m. Above that, the dress will come above the ankle, which is still wearable with a heel.
• Do the floral appliqués survive washing? They are sewn onto the fabric, not glued. A delicate wash at 30 °C in a net bag, with no tumble dryer, preserves both them and the pleating of the bodice.
