The trench coat, in a short version. It stops at the hips, around 64 to 67 cm of back length depending on the size, which makes it easy to wear over straight jeans as well as a midi skirt. The cotton-blend twill is matte, firm, without rigidity: it holds the line of the garment without breaking stiffly.

The brown faux leather shirt collar cuts against the camel. It is the detail that signs the piece and avoids the classic trench effect. The rest follows the codes of the genre: wide crossed lapels, tonal double-breasted buttons, button placket and chest flap, two patch pockets with buttoned flaps, a cape yoke at the back.

A loose cut that the belt takes in

The shoulders are dropped and the sleeves wide, with an open cuff. The width across is deliberately generous: 102 cm bust in XS, 114 cm in L. You can therefore slip a knitted jumper underneath without being tight at the armholes.

The tie belt, held by loops, leaves the choice to you. Tied tightly, it marks the waist and gives an hourglass silhouette. Left open, the jacket falls straight with a slight flare over the hips, underlined by a small vent at the sides.

What to know

The fabric is not stretch: the ease comes from the cut, not from the material. It is a mid-season piece, designed for spring and autumn, with no thermal lining. The jacket weighs about 0.7 kg, a weight you feel in the hand but which stays comfortable on the shoulders.

The camel varies slightly with the light: lighter outdoors, deeper indoors. The images give the real shade; a difference in screen rendering remains possible.

Fabric and care

Composition: Main fabric: cotton-blend twill, tight weave, matte finish, no elastane. Applied collar in faux leather (polyurethane), brown colourway. Tonal buttons. Belt in the same twill as the body of the garment.

Care: Hand wash or machine wash at 30 °C on a delicate programme, in a wash bag, with the belt removed and the buttons fastened. No tumble dryer: heat hardens the faux leather of the collar. Dry flat or on a wide hanger, in the shade, to preserve the line of the shoulders. Gentle ironing on the reverse, avoiding the collar and the buttons. The faux leather collar is cleaned with a damp cloth, with no solvent.

Sizes XS to L, measurements taken flat, tolerance of 1 to 2 cm. XS: bust 102 cm, back length 64 cm, shoulder + sleeve 71.5 cm, hem 104 cm. S: 106 / 65 / 73 / 108 cm. M: 110 / 66 / 74.5 / 112 cm. L: 114 / 67 / 76 / 116 cm. The cut is loose by construction: take your usual size for the intended volume, or the size down if you prefer a look closer to the body once belted. The fabric does not give, so do not go down a size if you plan to wear a thick jumper underneath.

Good to know

• Will the faux leather collar crack? Faux leather degrades mainly under heat and solvents. Avoid the tumble dryer, direct ironing on the collar and harsh stain removers. A damp cloth is enough for everyday care. Following those rules, the collar keeps its look season after season.
• Can I wear it in deep winter? That is not what it is for. The twill blocks the wind well but the jacket is not insulated. It works from spring to autumn, and in a mild winter over a thick knit thanks to its wide armholes.
• Won't the loose cut make me look wider? That is what the belt is for. Tied at the waist, it re-centres the silhouette and the flare over the hips becomes a style effect. If you are under 1.65 m, the short length of 64 to 67 cm works in your favour: it leaves the leg visible.
